Driving to School For the First Time
“That looks like it has the capabilities of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!” That was the first comment I got when I drove My Can-am XRS to school for the first time. If you aren’t familiar with this story, it’s a kids story in which the inventor turns a race car into a magical vehicle that can float, fly, and more. When you first look at it, I reckon it does look that way!
Besides it’s look, driving to school that day was so much more. My motive for this is not just a senior project or a graduation requirement. I want to bring peace, trust, understanding, excitement, and truth about these vehicles and to families who have so many questions about them. So did I just drive this to school for fun? No. I felt the drive, I analyzed the comfort, and I discovered things that made me even more comfortable then driving a car. There were some small things I found to change, but we will get into that next time!
Getting to the point, this vehicle was an awesome drive. Security gets a 10/10 with the 3 point harness and steel roll cage. Vision overall is great, smaller blind spots, bright lights and the ability (at night) to light up the road with many different options. It kept up with traffic perfectly fine cruising between 50 and 65 and even sometime accelerating more with no issue. The 7 speed transmission is so smooth and gives you the option of manual or a simple auto, both of which I tested out and both of which I highly enjoy. I had almost no issues then and still don’t. What I am going to modify will be in my next blog 😉.
Comments: Here is a range of comments I recieved:
- “That looks like something from Mars!”
- “Who’s Can-am is that?? It’s awesome!”
- “No way that thing is street legal”
- “I want one! That’s my car now! 😂”
There have been so many more since than, from hearts to questions and that’s what I am here for: to answer all of the questions and/or concerns out there!
